hissing noise behind console 200 1991

91 240 Wagon 210K. When I accelerate, deccelerate and shut the engine off, I hear what sounds to be a vacuum hiss somewhere deep in the center console area. Is there a vacuum accumulator back there or some other vacuum device that may be leaking? Has anyone else ever had this problem? All of my temp controls are working ok.
