Dad is diagnosing an extremely rich running condition in his '90 245 w/auto tranny. It's burning through waay to much gas. Plugs are black, crankcase is filling... It runs ok. Consistent 1-1-3 code.
I know what you're thinking but don't bother, the FPR has been changed w/spare and there's no fuel smell in the vacuum tube. Injectors swapped out for the heck of it. AMM swapped with a spare also. What we haven't tried is the O2 sensor. That's next. What else?
I noticed something while reading the codes (ignition on). The fuel pump kept running the whole time. Isn't it supposed to run for 10 or so seconds then quit? If I am correct, this (along with the overworked injectors) would point me towards the ECU. Getting ahead of myself I had a looksee at the ECU, the pink label 561. What are the chances that the ECU from my '92 parts car would swap over? Both are slushboxes.
Thanks for your thoughts,
Will
