Brake lines - Is this normal?
My '67 122S is fitted with a Lockheed brake booster. I am puzzled at the way it is set up.
While the car is set up for the single circuit brakes, it has the dual circuit master cylinder. The front outlet on the MC feeds the brake booster which only applies pressure to the front brakes. The rear outlet on the MC bypasses the booster and operates the rear brakes.
Is this the way Volvo did it? Is this the way dealers did it when installing A/C?
The installation looks professional, though different than any other 122 I've seen.
The Volvo Green Book (older than '67) shows the servo assisted single circuit as applying boosted pressure to all four wheels.
I haven't noticed anything unusual about the way the car stops, but I haven't done any panic stops either.
