I have a 93-945 (211K) that will not hot start.
I drove from Florida to New York, with no problem, developed coolent leak, needed new head gasket. Machine shop said existing head was warped to max tolerance, got used turbo head, had checked, and planed. After installation car will start cold, and run, not great, if turned off and try to re-start after it begins to warm, will not start, after long cranking, may idle about 500 rpm, increased throttle, no effect. Believe is running rich, as smell gas, and black (new) spark plugs.
Here is what I have done:
Removed intake manifold, changed Engine Coolant Sensor, (not gauge sensor), changed knock sensor, torqued both, verified electrical connection, re-installed intake manifold.
New Crank Position Sensor, New Spark Plugs (now are black)
Verified hose routing, new hose connectors.
Verified map sensor hose and electric connections.
Cleaned ground connections for intake manifold and injector rail, further put jumper cables from neg batt terminal to head and intake.
Cleaned butterfly valve, adjusted IAC, checked electric connection
Changed fuel sensor (white under radio)
Checked connection on fan-radio suppresor sensor
Checked fuel pressure sensor, (no gas smell vac side), disconnected fuel return line, cranked (did not start), gas flowing free.
Checked fuses
CAN I check fuel pressure regulator at schrader valve with tire gauge?
I think the ECU is under plastic kick plate on inside pass side.
I think the control module REX-1 and power amplified coil that are sandwiched together at the left fender wall. Are there any other modules I should be looking for, to check connections.
I am away from home, having tools, and parts being sent. ANY HELP OR ADVISE would be appreciated,
