Dash lights mystery 900 1992

I just replaced the shifter light bulb after a lot of trying-fingers just not small enough!
Now, when I adjust the dimmer switch the shifter light and the seat heater switches lights act opposite to the rest of the dash lights! When the switch is all the way up, the shifter light and the heat switches are completely off, while all the other dash lights are all the way bright. When the switch is all the way to "dim", all the lights are dim while the shifter and the seats are glowing bright! If the switch is in the middle, all are halfway...
How do I remedy that?
