coolant flush 960 900

allright did a cooling system flush as per the faq's and new thermo. only got 5.5 qts new coolant into system and i believe it should have taken 10-11 qts.

I had heater controls to heat to open water valve to core.

Why did I get such an incomplete flush.

I flushed through upper rad for the exit at thermo until clear water

Then i flushed through thermo housing with exit coming from lower block drain plug and pipe.(this netted some hidden green coolant in system) did this until clear water.

Refilled with 50/50 approx 5.5 qts. WTF? should have taken 10-11. Should I do this again to make sure I get complete flush?
