240 sedan rear defrost problem 200 1992

Trying to fix a problem that exists with the rear defroster in my 1992 240 sedan. It does not work. The rear defroster switch on the dash is not lighting up and the the back simply window will not defrost. I tried replacing the fuse on the kick panel, but no fix there. Just not sure what to try next. I am hoping it is something that an amateur like me can fix and not bring to a shop. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
