brake rotor interchange 200

I have a 1986 245 parts car and a 1992 245 keeper. The '92's front rotors are shot - P.O. ran metal to metal and grooved the LF rotor pretty badly. The '86 keeper has good front rotors. They appear to be same diameter as the '92, but the '86 has solid rotors and the '92 has vented. The vented are thicker. Is it safe/recommended as ok to swap the solid '86 onto the '92? I presume it has to be in a pair, if yes (both front rotors or none at all)?
