Tonight I'm thinking ahead toward wrapping up my timing belt replacement. I decided I need to remove the intermediate shaft sprocket so that I can get a better look at that seal and likely replace it. Not having the Volvo special tool 5034 to remove the sprocket, what is suggested as a home-brew? The area surrounding that seal is wet. I have a set of spare new front seals ready to go and hope only to use one for the IS, just in case. Car has 167K miles.
Also, not having Volvo special tool 5025 to set the new seal, does anyone have descriptions of specific items that might be found at Lowe's to home-brew the new seal replacement?
For the fun of Volvos,
Mike
