Those Ridiculous Tailight Circuit Boards 200

I had a tailight circuit board melt on my 87 244 this week. I replaced the opposite side board last year when it just wore out and started to fall apart. Does anyone have a solution to this problem? I've been thinking about soldering wires to the bulb sockets and then hard wiring them to the connector that feeds the lights. Has anyone tried this? I've had enough! Why did Volvo do this to us in the first place? What happened to the old reliable socket and wire?
