vibration after installing new motor mounts 200 1987

I recently replaced the motor mounts on my 87 240 for the second time, as I had a leaking cam shaft that weakened the right side. I do not remember the difference in how the car felt the first time i did this job, but when I did it last week, I immediately noticed that the car vibrated somewhat harshly after the job. Initially, I could feel the vibration through the pedals and steering wheel, and just in general through the body of the car as well. It occurred while idling and while revving the engine, and I could also feel it while driving. I wanted to see it would "settle in" before trouble shooting the problem. I have driven the car about 1100 miles since the change including a 900 mile trip on the highway. It is hard to say if it is as intense as it was initially, but the vibration is still there and it's uncomfortable enough that I'd like to fix the problem.

I was thinking that it might have been a problem that was preexisting and the new mounts may have just allowed me to feel it, but what would cause this? Is it possible that I jammed something that is transferring the natural engine vibration to the body of the car? The car has continually run great. I have put about 6500 miles on it in the last month and a half, driving across the country and back, with no major issues. Odo =272,xxx miles
