Windshield rubber trim removal? 200 1988

I've never taken off a windshield, I checked FAQs, and still don't know if the rubber trim can be pried off the edge of the windshield after removing the stainless trim, leaving the windshield attached to the body??

By looking, the windshield seems to be glued onto the body, and the rubber trim stretched around its perimeter? If it (the rubber trim) can be pulled off, the little rust in the righthand corner could be attended to, no? Or, do I just order a new windshield installed?

The only thing wrong with the body is this annoying, but sure to metastisize, area of rust.
