Been fighting this intermittent since I bought the car 2 years ago. Every couple of moths it comes back out of nowhere. I have had the alternator brushes replaced and everything else checks out on the bench, and 14v when the car is running. Battery is now a year old, replaced it trying to deal with this before.

My wife got stuck twice last week so I've been driving it for a week now. No problems until last night - glug glug no start. Voltmeter says 11 right after then I watch it climb back up. The battery is on charge now and I will no doubt be able to start it after that. I've got nice weather and time to deal with this this weekend, but I'm lost as to where to trouble shoot. The alt. seems to be doing its job when I test it. Every time in the past I have checked all the grounds and connections and when I put it all back together its fine for 3 months or so.


Any help would be appreciated.
