Crankshaft center bolt oiled before tightening?

The green Volvo service manual TP 30871/1, page 9, States:
"TIGHTENING TORQUES
The tightening torques apply to oiled screws, bolts and nuts. Degreased(washed) parts must be oiled before use.

Crank shaft center bolt first stage 45 ft lbs
second stage angle-tighten 60 degrees."

The section lists various other bolts and spark plugs. The spark plugs have a parentheses after that states (not to be oiled).

I had installed the previous belt, with oiled bolt, I found the bolt significantly easier to get off then when the bolt was installed dry. So I'm wondering; if the book is wrong and thus the way I've done it in the past, it doesn't make any difference dry or oiled, and if there is another source I may be missing. As best as I could tell the faq is silent on this and my imperfect searching didn't clarify my question in a way my limited brain could be at peace with.
Thanks
Bill
