"easy fuel pump test' 200 1993

I read someone's earlier post about checking fuel pump operation by removing fuse 4 and jumping left and right prongs to fuse six.

I did this. Removed fuse 4 and jumped from left fuse 4 prong to fuse six. I hear the main pump running. Then I jumped from right fuse 4 prong to fuse six and hear nothing. Does this suggest my in-tank pump is not working. Or do I need to to listen better? That is, is the in-tank pump as noticeable to the ear as the main pump?

Thanks
