Quick tranny mount question 120-130 1967

My 1976 is on a jack stand, the tranny is held up with a floor jack. I was installing a new tranny mount and encountered a small problem.

The new mount, an IPD heavy duty - 1221967 mount trans rr 1962-93, has different threads. The original 11/16 nut fit nicely and snuggly held the bracket, but when I went to tighten the nut to the cross member, it spun as if it were srtipping the threads. Initial inspection "without readers on" showed no wear on the mount threads or the nut.

I called IPD at noon, they said they would immediately send me a new one.

This evening, after completing other chores, I removed the cross member and mount again. No wear on the threads or nut and the nut screws down easily but will not tighten. Then I noticed, "readers on", that the thread sizes are different!!!

This tranny mount appears to have METRIC threads, not the coarse SAE threads. Is this my problem? Should I go to the hardware store and hope they have new metric nuts that fit? <-----------

The box the mount came in says 1962-93, but we all know Volvo didn't go metric until the 1970's. Bilstein, a good German company and the part is made in India.

Thanks,
Klaus
