dash lights stay on for a while 200

Daughter's 87 245, 250,000+ miles. Sometimes when she starts the car, the dash lights come on with ignition, but don't go out until after she travels for a mile. I'm well aware of the faulty wiring problems through 1988. I've tried jiggling alternator small red wire to duplicate the problem, with no success. Hoping someone has had similar experience. Thanks in advance.
