Intemittent extremely lean condition 200 1986

After believing that I had fixed the problem of the 245 running rough by draining the small amount of water from the fuel line, the condition has raised it's ugly head again.

So far I've checked or changed the following:

1) ECT sensor
2) ECU
3) Fuel Injectors
4) Fuel rail and FPR from 88 740
5) Spark Plugs
6) Dist. Cap and rotor
7) Main fuel pump from 88 740
8) AMM
9) Ignition control module
10)Re-wired the main power feed from the battery positive to the main power junction
11)Checked all fuses for corrosion.
12) Added a can of gas line drier to the tank and filled up with premium fuel

The car runs fine for a time independent of hot or cold operating temp, fuel level in tank, or engine speed, then loses power and starts backfiring with a lean mix. I had to drive it 22 miles this way to get home the other night and the exhaust manifold gasket blew out. (At least it wasn't a head gasket!)

Any ideas?

Thanks in advance.
