6 to 12v starter 444-544 1958

I own a 58 444 with a B16 motor that has been switch from 6v - 12v. I would like to switch the 6v over to 12v any suggestions. I was wondering if the B18 544 starter would work turned where the sylinoid was at the bottom. Thanks.
