Just replaced heater motor...smelling burnt plastic..? 200

Just replaced the heater motor/regulator/switch on my '87 240. Everything is working as it should. When I started car this morning during warm up I turn the heater on with fan on (2spd). When I returned to the car there was burnt plastic smell present. Could it be possible that the smell its caused by the new paint on the new heater motor (VDO painted black)? Just wondering....I'm a bit concern it may be an electrical short generating heat somewhere.

Thanks.

ps.
thanks to benstein at cleanflametrap.com for the great detailed instructions on how to replace the heater motor.....
