N/A engine and transmission options for my daughter's 242 200

I just picked up a '80 242 this weekend for the low, low price of $50. I'd been looking for one locally here for my daughter for about a year and the right deal finally came along. But enough about my good fortune and on to my questions. This car has what I believe to be the B21 gas engine. It also has a BW55 auto trans, as well, I believe. I want to keep an auto trans. in it for my daughter because she'll be 16 when she gets it and it's her first car. I know that this car now has the K-Jetronic mechanical fuel injection system which I haven't worked on but could learn, of course. My other engine options that I have available aside from the B21 are a B23 from an '84 parts car I have. (I also have a spare upgraded engine wiring harness for this) I also have an '88 B230 from a 740. I'm not opposed to going in any direction work-wise, I just want what would be the best option in regards to fuel economy, reliability, etc. Also, should I upgrade to an AW70 or AW71 auto trans.? Any and all input will be greatly. Thanks, Charles
