Ball joints - tightening the upper mount nut 200 1989

Hi All,

Well, after 325,000 miles the original ball joints on my '89 245 finally gave up the ghost.....

So I installed some new OE Volvo ball joints [made by TRW btw] and the process went well, with the exception being that I could not tighten down the ovalized locking flanged nut down on the ball stud threads because the stud started to spin. This left me with about 0.5-1 mm of vertical play.

I'd like to eliminate this play but I am not sure what the trick is to do this.......

Any & Al tips will be appreciated !!!

John
