Left ignition on my 1800e for hours 1800

Hello folks, I have not driven my 1970,1800e for the last week , after moving my car out of the garage I absentmindedly I left the ignition in the "on" position for more than four hours. By the time I realized my mistake, my car would no longer crank over. My battery has enough juice, I can hear the fuel pump buzz, however the car wont start. The ignition coil (relatively new) was hot to the touch and I’m wondering if it was damaged by this prolonged misuse? could this be the problem? Please advise of any other item that I should consider before paying to have my car towed to the mechanic.
Thanks
Luis
