No left front parking light, left tail light and license plate light on 240 wagon 200 1989

This problem started last spring just before taking it off the road for the Summer. I did a temporary fix by running the rear fog lights in place of the tail lights. I totally forgot about the problem until today. Of course, winter is here and it's scheduled to be inspected on Thursday after registering it tomorrow. Procrastinating as usual!
I replaced the left hatch wiring harness today. Still no license plate light. Checked for voltage at the connector just before the hinge. Again, no juice going to the license light.
If my memory serves me, I did blow a fuse. When replaced, it fixed it temporarily. Once I plugged the rear tail light back in, if I remember correctly, the fuse blew again. Now today even with a working fuse, the left tail, parking and license light doesn't work.
I also replaced the left inner sill and floor pan a couple of years back. Its possible that the wiring harness was damaged in the process.
I'm hoping it's something simple like the bulb failure sensor. I hate to replace the sensor only to find it ruined again by a possible short in the harness.
I'm hoping someone will have a suggestion. Sorry about the rambling. Its been a long day. Seems like every year I go through the same ordeal getting this car back on the road.
