1. I just replaced tabs in my 87. Recap in a separate thread. The old ones were so bad that the bolt was resting on the bottom of the axle mount - metal to metal.

I'd posted separately that the car had a bad vibration-buzz that was worse under load. That's gone with the new bushings so I infer that the axle was pushed back under load and it was direct contact axle-trailing arm.

2. I also replaced the rear coil springs with a set from a sedan that sat just right. In the 87 the car's height was unchanged. I thought perhaps the shocks were sticking down somehow and I replaced them. No change.

Perhaps it's just that the coils from the other car weren't as good as they looked. My next step is to put wagon springs under it.

Am I overlooking something obvious - what else could cause rear-end sag?
