alternator repalcement help/guidance!!??!! S90-V90 1997

1997 960 178K
Upon start up this morning "battery" light on (and rather dim?)- so as the battery was some 7 years old, got no help in replacing it, so, likely an alternator, heh?!?!?!?
If not alternator (120V) than what are the possibiltiies??

Have done several (and starters!) over the years with 240, 740, 940 models,
but never in a later 960/S90.....

Can anyone offer me some guidance and or tips and heck- maybe even what
size mm tools to have ready??!!
