Switching front brake pads/rotors sides.....any problems? 200 1986

I've been getting some vibration at times (not always) when braking. Would there be any advantage to switch the rotors and pads of the right side to the left side changing their braking direction to eliminate the vibration or does this sound dumb? How about just switching the pads only?

Thanks.
