M41 Transmission hitting cross member 140-160

I've got a 1974 145.
I recently upgraded my M40 to a M41 using parts from a 1970 140 (M41 w/ D-type OD). I swapped everything (including the OD cross member) from the 1970 140 without any issues. After I got everything together, I noticed the OD would hit the cross member when I lightly jiggled the transmission by hand. I replaced the trans mount with a new unit from IPD, but that didn't seem to help.

Someone on my local message board suggested that it could be the small bracket between the transmission and rubber mount. I guess there are two different types of brackets , some are adjustable and some aren’t. I have the non-adjustable bracket. It’s very odd this exact setup worked in the 1970 140 without any clearance issues.... I wonder what’s different.

Are there any differences between the 1970-1974 M41 cross members? Maybe I should try the old M40 bracket with my M41? My engine mounts look OK, but maybe replacing them would help. Anyone know what year of 140s had these adjustable brackets?

Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks
