ES luggage strap placement 1800

I have a set of the accesssory luggage straps for my '73 ES. Below the inside edge of the rear hatch are the small chrome brackets where one end of each strap hooks. I can't, however, figure out how the other end attaches up near the rear wheel arch. The pictures I've seen look as though the straps connect somewhere near the fittings that lock the folding seat in place. Unfortunately none of these pictures really show enough detail for me to be sure. If anyone could either give me a good description or, better still, email me a picture I would really appreciate it. Thanks.
