I have a 1991 740 Turbo, which I've owned for two years, that can't pass the California emissions test because holes in my exhaust pipe prevents enough airflow out of the tailpipe for a proper reading.
I literally got under the car and held wet rags over the holes we found to try and artificially solve the problem, but no success. There are too many holes, it would seem.
I know very little of car maintenance, but I'd like to ask yall's opinion of what I should do. There is a good volvo shop nearby (Swedish Auto Clinic, Santa Monica, CA) that has treated me well in the past, but before I take my car there and pay for a new pipe I want to see if there are any other options for fixing the problem in any fashion.
