Fuel leak at filter 200 1988

After changing my fuel filter yesterday, I noticed my gas gauge was reading lower than expected. I looked under the car & saw a drip coming from the fuel filter connection - the end that connects to the fuel pump. I got a couple wrenches on it and was able to tighten it a little. It helped, but didn't completely fix it.

I don't think the hose from pump to filter is broken. I'm going to try tightening it again to see if I can get it to seal. If that doesn't work, would it be ok to run a thin bead of RTV around the connection?
