Cruise contrlo not working 900 1991

I can't get the cruise to work on my 91 940T. Pushing the sliding swith and set button has no effect whatsoever. The fuse is good, so where should I be looking to find the fault? The brake pedal is not pushing on the cancel switch, so I am pretty stumped. I have never had to deal with CC before, so don't know where to start.
