Rear wiper troubleshooting 900 1993

The rear wiper on my -93 wagon is sometimes stopping in the middle of the sweep in intermittent mode.
I can resume normal operation by flipping the switch to continous and back.
Anybody with insight on where to begin troubleshooting? Motor, switch or is there possibly a relay involved?
