Shudder on braking even with new or reconditioned bearings, rotors, calipers, pads, tires! 200 1979

The front of the car vibrates (more like shudders) on braking even with all new or reconditioned braking components (bearings, rotors, calipers, pads, tires!) (This work was done 6 months ago - shudder has only occurred during last month). There is no vibration at the steering wheel or brake pedal. The car steers OK - no "dead-zone" or "slop" when turning the steering wheel.

Shudder seems to come from only left hand side of car. I put in a new "tie rod ball joint" on right hand side 5 years ago as its rubber had cracked. New front shockers and shocker spacers were put in 7 years ago. New bushes for "stabilizer bar" were put in 1 year ago. Shockers seem to pass the "push - release - only one bounce" test. Rest of steering and suspension bushes etc are 30 years old. Car has done 535,000 km (334,000 miles).

What is the most likely culprit? Do I need to replace all suspension bushes :(
If rubber-based components are needed is aftermarket OK or is it better to use Volvo OEM or even IPD "poly bushes"? (Been bitten on aftermarket parts - inlet & outlet manifold gaskets).
