I am trying to chase down this engine (?) noise.
Volvo 1990 740 manual, turbo.
Car must be at running at temperature.
Does not make sound when car is cold.
Noise is a like a low pitched squeak. Like a belt slipping it seems. But it is not a high pitched squeal or whine.
It lasts for nearly a second as the clutch lets out fully into first gear. It can also happen into second gear if the release of the clutch is fast and the torque strong. The sound occurs at the end of the clutch release I would say when the thrust/torque is maximum. No noise when car running or driving normally. Only at the last stage of clutch release.
The car must be in motion. I tried to make the sound with the car wheels chocked by letting the clutch out. It won't make the noise.
It is a new clutch and clutch bearings. It made the sound with the old clutch and the new clutch.
Keys points: car must be warm running. Must be in motion. Made with the old and new clutch. (I got a new clutch as my clutch bearings were worn and making noise. A different noise.)
Thanks for the help I need it!
The car runs well I am trying to avoid a break down.
