I've been working on my 122 for the past 2 months getting it ready for the upcoming shows. It started with cleaning the engine to make it look good but it wound up with a complete tear down, paint and rebuild. First it started with a complete engine tear down to paint the block. Then each individual piece painted to match the rest of the engine bay. Alternator taken apart and painted each piece, carb, exhaust manifold, thermostat housing, polishing crank cover and so on. Every time I finish something I find something else to do. Now I just finished rewiring the alternator and the front lights and horns. All new wires, soldered and then heat shrunk and concealed in the fender wells. Now when you open the hood, surprise no wires. The whole moral of this story is don't get crazy with you car. People or judges won't even notice 50% of the work that you put into doing something and they will think its stock, this from personal experience.
