Siphon Gas out of a 740 Turbo 700 1987

I have a 1987 740 Turbo in excellent physical shape. However it has been in storage the last few years and now runs poorly. I believe it is because of bad fuel. I want to remove the gas however when I tried to siphon gas out I can not get the tube down low enough to hit gas. There is over half a tank of gas in it. I feel it could be in such bad condition I do not want to dilute it with fresh gas, but get it all out completly without it going through the engine. Any suggestions on how to siphon it out? Any help will be appriciated!
