so i just got my baby running again, by realigning the cam, crank and aux shafts and adjusting the distributer. other things done were: removal of exhaust manifold to repair a freeze plug, replacement of a heater hose, replacement of wires, plugs, cap and rotor.
got it to start up just fine, when it stopped running (on acct of the timing) everything else was just dandy. now, when i got in to take it for a test drive, i noticed when i pushed the clutch to the floor a "chime" went off. like the keys are still in your ignition kind. i thought, oh wow. i guess that was supposed to be a feature when this baby was new. perhaps. but i also found out when i noticed my electronic door locks were not working, that when i pressed down on the drivers door lock to activate it, the "chime" came again???
in trouble shooting the original no-start i checked voltage/ohm/continuity on the coil and the cpu. perhaps i shorted something? i did exactly what the bentley said... no other electrical things were done. perhaps a mouse unknowingly has caused this coincidental occurrence?
any help would be much obliged,
thanks
