I recently moved back down to GA after being laid of while working in MA. I just started working again, found a great job with a great company thankfully, so now I've been working on becoming an official Georgia resident (again). Titles, license, tags, etc.
Georgia offers the option to buy "antique" edition plates for you vintage car, which have a little old car on them and cost an extra $25 per year. But recently someone clued me in to the fact that the state issued tags stamped with the year up until 1970. If you can find one that matches the year on your title, and get your local tag office to sign an affidavit saying they are the same year, you can display the REAL "antique" tags. You still have to have the "real" modern plate linked to the registration in the trunk, as well as a copy of the affidavit, but still pretty cool that they allow it.
Anyways, the proper year was pretty easy to come buy on Ebay, and ended up being about the same price as the annual fee to get the "antique" tags.
