Weird electrical gremlins 200 1985

My ’85 240 wagon is experiencing a myriad of electrical gremlins. The little buggers came out to play about two weeks ago then suddenly, I must have appeased their gods because they disappeared. Two days ago they came back with a vengeance, I guess they don’t have a sense of humor about their deity. Because there are so many crazy things that are going on I’ll describe them in order of frequency.

1) My blinkers don’t work, the bulbs are fine, fuse is clean, and the emergence flashers work
2) The battery light AND up arrow light come on, however overdrive still works. If the run the lights or fan both lights get proporinatly brighter.
3) When I first start the car and engage the blinker lever the heater fan turns on really low and makes noise.
4) Temperature and gas gauge display about 10% of normal

Everything else seems to work fine.

Now this might be a red herring but about four weeks ago I was dealing with wipers that would die after about 5 minutes of usage. While cleaning the wiper contacts I put the wiper back together wrong and blew the wiper fuse twice. I also removed both the wiper relay and whatever the other relay is next two it. When I was done the wipers seem be working fine. It was late so I didn’t put the metal plate back over the relays and drove around for a week like that. When I got time put the cover back on everything looked good. The very next day was the first time the gremlins came out.

Maybe another red herring but now the fuse box is a little loose now, if there suppose to be more than one screw holding it in?

Any suggestions? Even though I live in Southern California I’m still hesitant to drive without blinkers.
