Hey guys,
I have a 1980 GT with 2.1 B21 K-Jet... differs from normal 1980 GTs as it doesn't have a breather port in the valve cover.
I just put in my repaired fuel level sending unit and I blew my fuel pump fuse like crazy (I was using a white 8 amp)... so I got annoyed after blowing 5 and just replaced it with a blue 25 amp fuse. After trying to start the car for the last 20 minutes the blue is just fine without a blow out! I prime the system just fine... I hear the fuel pumps and the return.
Now every time I try and turn the engine over (note: cold start injector is disabled) it just cranks and cranks without starting up. The plugs are getting fuel and I've cleaned them and blown excess fuel out of the plug holes each time, but I'm not getting anything. I am getting spark and fuel, but the engine isn't starting.
I've filled the tank with 93 Premium... not using 87 normal...
I've run this car before (a few months ago and it idled really rough), but the in-tank pump went out and blew through fuel pump fuses like crazy.
I checked the timing belt before working on the fuel system and the Dwell distributor is set up correctly for firing order. I redid the hoses on the frequency valve, but I'm not sure how to diagnostic any of it. I haven't taken anything like wiring apart, but I did get this car in not-running shape.
Help!
