Brake lights failed 200 1989

I have a '89 240, a few days ago the brake lights failed, I have checked bulbs fuse, etc. no voltage getting through the wire harnass to the trunk. Any ideas, I am thinking connector somewhere but where? The third light in the rear window works,what am I missing here? Thanks for your suggestions in advance
