smoky exhaust 200 1988

i have very smoky exhaust when i hit high rpms. at idle it seems pretty normal, except with what looks like a blue-ish tint. the smoke at high rpms is thick, white/blueish, and is pretty much a james bond smoke screen. smells burnt, not sweet or of fresh gasoline. the smoke screen doesn't release until i get close to redlining (i assume, i don't have a tach) stays smoky in normal rpms for a bit then goes back to normal.

is this a case of bad blow-by? result of blown rings or seals or whatever? or is my engine blown? (which i hope not cause i just got this thing running).

little back story:
smoky exhaust first started a couple months ago. i parked this beast on the thought it's head gasket was blown and was waiting for good weather to do the job, but starting it up every couple weeks. upon that start up the exhaust was very stinky, but then cleared up after warmed up. then discovered my massive coolant leak was a missing freeze plug. exhaust is now the way it is.
