444 Steering Gear Box 444-544

After years of being worked over, the 444 is almost ready to be "on the road". But I need to know how to add fluid to the steering gearbox. While it sat around, the steering gearbox had a slow leak so I know it is low. But I am not sure how to add fluid. It has a 7/8 nut on top with a slotted threaded "screw" in the middle of the nut. Do I unscrew the whole "nut and screw" assembly, or hold the nut and just remove the screw?
