Good news for a change 120-130 1967

While waiting for an estimate to have the rear bushings replaced in the Twin Cities, I have been tinkering.

By accident, I turned the key too far and the starter engaged!! Good thing my foot was on the clutch. This has never happened before, I always used the starter button. So I tried again, very carefully. No effort, no stress on the key, just vroom. Miracles do happen, this after visiting C.A.

I decided to play with my heater control valve, it is getting warm out and the heated air is not fun. After close inspection, the lever on the outside of the control valve looked all rusty. Probably from being leaked on the last 5 winters and not being moved.

So, I sprayed a little PB Blaster on the offending part. Then with some needle nose pliers, managed to move it a little bit. Heartend with this, I moved it back and forth until I had full range of movement. I now have the heat off!

I do need to do a little work in securing the cable sheathing at the dash end, all of the rubber was worn off and the cable no longer is held in place. Perhaps a piece of rubber from another project will be enough to help hold the cable. Things are looking up.

I appreciate all of the help from you good folks. You help make the world go around.

Klaus
