Bleeding brake master cylinder 700 1991

Replaced a worn out master cylinder (MC)in my 1991 turbo a few months ago. Did not bench bleed the new MC, but did power bleed all four wheels enough to fully flush out the old, dark, brake fluid. The brake pedal is still to loose, soft, drops too far, too fast, etc. Since the only thing I think I did wrong was to skip bench bleeding the MC, can I use the bleed fitting on the MC and simply power bleed it?
