Hello All!
Years of not having a working fuel gauge has inspired me to finally do something about it.
So I bought this brand new, 120$ fuel tank sending unit for my 69 144s, I installed it without incident, hooked up the little wire . . .and the gauge didnt respond. I am thinking there is a faulty connection to the gauge itself. I investigated (painfully I might add, assuming contortionist worthy positions to be able to view the back of the instrument panel), found where the fuel gauge "servo" is, and cannot find any place that a wire could connect, or anywhere to do a voltage test. The wiring diagram I have is all greek to me. There is also a lone tab back there that is not connected to the gauge box, does the sending unit's wire happen to connect here? And where is this wire thats supposed to connect to the gauge itself? I couldnt find any loose wires back there, either. If you have ANY idea what I am talking about please reply to me! Before you ask, I have not performed a voltage test on the unit itself, as I do not have the equipment yet. Assume it works just fine, and send me your suggestions, who knows what can work out?
