'86 240 wiring harness

So I was fortunate enough to visit Dave Barton's page when he had a used ignition and used engine wiring harness. I have both of the old ones out and all the connections mapped out. I was so intent on mapping all the connections that I didn't pay close attention to where exactly the harnesses start to run underneath the block on the driver's side, e.g. between the block and what part is the entry. Can someone...anyone enlighten me?
