wheel spacers/tires 900

I am planning to convert a 945 over to a 5 on 4.5" bolt pattern with a 17' x 8' wheel in order to be able to source some nice mags for the car. Now the problem is that I think I will need a wheel with a 50mm offset in order to run a 25mm spacer/adapter. Do I have this right? Has anyone done this? Can I run a 215/45/17 tire on the rear without interferance? Is there a need to buy hubcentric adapters? I am also thinking of running 205/50/17's on the front but I am not sure if I will have enough room for the amazing turning radius of the 900 series Volvo. Lots of questions I hope someone out there has tried some of these ideas and will share their experience with me. I am planning for a 5L conversion and would like to get some wider tires under the car. Thanks in advance to anyone that can/will help out.
