Last Saturday I had this fellow look at my 1995 Volvo 850. Well, he liked the idea of driving a well kept car with only 122k... but wanted to lowball me. I let him look around the car and start it up while talking to my neighbor.
I put my car on Rhinos and do the usual oil change. However I left the key in the ignition for a good fifteen minutes and the fuel pump sound was more than likely there the whole time. I try to start... but it won't fire up.
The next day I start it up. Runs fine. I drive it a good thirty miles where it spontaneously decides to decelerate. Pull over to the side. Try to restart. I get good ignition but it simply won't turn over. Cost for the tow $70.
I'm wondering whether I have a fuel pump issue, fuel filter, or fuel relay? I'm sure it will start fine tomorrow and then fizzle out. Since I'm off, I may as well take care of it. But where to start?
Thanks!
